I do know that Microsoft/Windows 10/Office 365 - has been downloaded new things they THINK WE'LL LOVE, and they make more work for the user, in most cases (in my case anyway). NOW when I open my Documents/downloaded files.ALL the ICONS are back to the EDGE browser. The issue is.when I go back into these files (AFTER I'VE PREVIOUSLY SELECTED FIREFOX AS DEFAULT ONE BY ONE, AND USED THEM THAT WAY), So, I go into "Settings" and select the Default as Firefox, and I could open it with no problem.

I CAN download them with the Chrome or Edge Browser.but I'm not in the mood to have to learn to use either of them, as now I'm facing a deadline for taxes! I worked on some of this Friday & Sat, and as I opened each one, I'd get "FIREFOX IS NOT CURRENTLY I didn't get to work on them at all, until now & found all my downloaded statements used to have the Firefox icon in front of them, but NOW they ALL have the Edge icon instead. I downloaded all of them on FIREFOX (just I downloaded, from the web, several statements, back in December 2018 so I could work on my getting my taxes ready while traveling. Thank you for your response, but I obviously didn't get my issue across properly.
